The coming into effect of Regulation of the Supreme Court Number 1 Year 2019 regarding Electronic Administration for Lawsuits and Trials at Court which is also followed by the launch of the e-Litigasi application on 20 August 2019 will simplify judicial processes which can now be done online through the application. After the launch of e-Litigasi, the continuation of e-Court will also be applied to civil, religious civil, military administration and state administration lawsuits. The e-Court system currently includes lawsuit registration, court fee and summons fee payment as well as document exchange mechanism.
The electronic use of court data in e-Litigasi is also expanded to prosecutors, legal affairs bureaus and in-house lawyers who can now access those data. Moreover, e-Court is provided for appeal legal remedy, cassation and judicial review for lawsuits which use e-Litigasi at the first instance court.
The application of e-Litigasi will be conducted gradually and can be applied by all first instance courts in Indonesia. With the e-Litigasi application, administrative and trial processes at courts are expected to be faster and reduce the court fee.
