DGT Reports Taxpayer’s Tax Returns Reporting Increases to 7.92 Million

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – The Directorate General of Tax (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) noted that taxpayers who have submitted the Annual Tax Return (SPT) for fiscal year 2020 reached 7.92 million until Friday (20/3). This figure increased by 0.3 percent from the realization of the same period last year, 7.89 million.

When specified, based on DGT data on Friday (3/20) at 08.40 WIB, 676 thousand individual taxpayers reported SPT 1770, 4.33 million individual taxpayers reported SPT 1770 S, and 2.72 million individual taxpayers reported SPT 1770 SS. Then, 232 thousand corporate taxpayers reported SPT 1771 and 229 corporate taxpayers reported SPT 1771 USD.

In addition, the majority of taxpayers also reported electronically (e-filing) with a total of 7.13 million reporting parties. That number increased 1.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year, 7.03 million reporters.

The second method is through e-form with a total of 438 thousand reporters, an increase of 41.3 percent from 310 thousand in the same period the previous year.

An increase was also experienced by reporters using e-SPT, which reached 97.9 thousand reporters from 97.1 thousand in the previous year. Reporting through ASP e-Filling totaling 13 thousand reporters also increased dramatically from the previous year which only reached 150 reporters.

Meanwhile, DGT recorded that manual reporting decreased 30.1 percent from 455 thousand to 318 thousand reporters in 2020.

Previously, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani appealed to individual taxpayers to fulfill their tax report obligations well in advance of the deadline. This year, DGT has extended the deadline for submission of personal taxpayer tax returns due to the spread of the corona virus outbreak, from March 31 to April 30, 2020.

She said that the government currently provided Tax Return reporting reporting facilities, so that the taxpayers are not required to come to the nearest Tax Service Office (KPP). In this case, taxpayers can fill out tax returns online, for example through e-filing.
