Change Of Tax And State Revenue Components In The Coal Mining Sector

At the moment, the government is still preparing the policies to be applied to holders of the first generation coal mining concession work agreement the status of which will change into holders of special mining business permit. One of the policies is related to taxation and state revenue to be provided for in the Government Regulation on Tax and/or Non-Tax State Revenue Treatment in the Coal Mining Business Line.

According to plan, the government will change tax and state revenue components. Corporate income tax will be decreased from 45% to 25%. However, coal production proceeds will be increased from 13.5% to 15%.

Meanwhile, net profit will be subject to a value added tax of 10% in accordance with Law Number 4 Year 2009 regarding Mineral and Coal Mining. After their status changes into holders of special mining business permit, they are obligated to pay it to the central government by 4% and to the regional government by 6%.
